Mana was born in a small village in Doma. Her parents stayed behind when the Ruby Princess called their people to the sea, but decided to run away after having her in order to give her a better life. The couple got sick during the long voyage and passed away shortly after landing in Limsa Lominsa, leaving young Mana, still a toddler, at the mercy of the Lominsan government.Mana was more or less raised by the Arcanists Guild rather than being placed in an orphanage or foster care. She had access to a vast library of arcane knowledge and managed to summon carbuncle after just 3 summers. Her aptitude only grew, going through schooling and honing her skills until she could decide upon a fitting profession. She chose adventuring because it gave her the greatest opportunity to help people and prevent more victims like her parents.She was informed of her parents’ fate while she was still young. There wasn't much to know about them beyond a few personal effects and a ship manifest, but their all-too-brief tale ended up helping her understand the cycle of life and death and rebirth and instilled a fascination with aetherology.Other boys and girls in her age group would tease her relentlessly and pick on her, given that she had no parents and that she lived more or less among criminals. Even so, she would ignore their bullying and carry on with her schooling. She would treat everyone with kindness, occasionally causing confusion in so doing. This left her with great insecurity in interpersonal relationships. She maintained hope, however, that she would find a family of her own someday, or at least a place where she felt she belonged.

  • warrior of light.  Follows the main story of Final Fantasy XIV, wherein Mana joins the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and discovers that she has been blessed by Hydaelyn. In Ardbert's case, he joins his comrades and attempts to thwart the Ascians' plot to destroy his world.

  • scion walker.  ~Rather than being the "main character" of the story, Mana takes a side role in the Scions. She uses her Blessing of Light to investigate the primals and reach out to the beast tribes. She is stationed primarily around Limsa Lominsa and works mostly with the kobolds. ~

  • warriors of light.  ~Follows the main story of Final Fantasy XIV, but instead of the Warrior of Light working alone, Hydaelyn has sent Ardbert to the Source in an attempt to preempt the Ascians' plans on plunging the First into Light. He is still a shard of the same soul, but is fully corporeal-- and hasn't been tricked by Elidibus into being a Warrior of Darkness. ~
